Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Chatham Homeschool's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Chatham HomeSchool lost to Oak Forest back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Chatham HomeSchool Thunder sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-39 win over the Oak Forest Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunder have posted since December 3, 2024.

Chatham HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Coletta, who posted nine points along with six assists and six steals. Coletta is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Lang, who scored eight points and three steals.

Coletta wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Chatham HomeSchool was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Forest only racked up five assists.

When it comes to explaining why Oak Forest lost, don't look at Tyler Woolard. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Woolard a new career-high in boards. Christian Hargett was another key player, putting up seven points.

Chatham HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Oak Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 21-11.
