The Morse Shipbuilders couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by Lincoln Academy 83-31 on Friday. Morse has not had much luck with Lincoln Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Morse lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gage Suitter. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. Trace McFarland was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Morse's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Lincoln Academy, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morse will take on Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln Academy, they will be playing at home against Cape Elizabeth at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
