The Cornersville Bulldogs and the McKenzie Rebels squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Cornersville Bulldogs had to settle for second. Cornersville took a hard 31-14 fall against McKenzie. Cornersville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Cornersville still got an impressive performance from Ben Franklin, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Franklin has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last eight times he's played.
Cornersville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for McKenzie, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Cornersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McKenzie will be playing at home against Collinwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
