It was a good run, but Petersburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Crosbyton Chiefs, falling 37-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Buffaloes have suffered against the Chiefs since April 5, 2022.

KENLEE VAUGHN was cooking despite her team's loss, going 5-for-7 with three stolen bases, five runs, and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of E Orozco, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Crosbyton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Petersburg will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Crosbyton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hermleigh at 5:00 p.m. The Chiefs will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests.
