The Benedictine Cadets were the 60-45 winner over the Burke County Bears when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Benedictine fell just short of Burke County by a score of 46-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Benedictine has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Benedictine lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 61.4% of Benedictine's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Henry Sink was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Bryce Wimberly continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Burke County, scoring 15 points. Wimberly hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was La'Quinton Morgan, who scored seven points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Benedictine and nudges their season record down to 13-6. As for Burke County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.
Benedictine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Burke County also has no future games currently scheduled.
