Cardinal Gibbons extended their winning streak to ten on Monday, bumping them up to 15-1. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dwyer Panthers a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won eight games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Lydia Berent was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Looking ahead, Cardinal Gibbons will challenge West Broward at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dwyer, they will take on Oxbridge Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The ThunderWolves' pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
