The Fremont Tigers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Lincoln North Star by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. The win was just what Fremont needed coming off of a 74-45 defeat in their prior contest.
Fremont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Harold Kennedy out in front who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kennedy has scored all season. Coriahnn Gallatin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Lincoln North Star's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KG Gatwech, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Gatwech also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Castor, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Fremont's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Lincoln North Star, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will take on the Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln North Star, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Thunderbolts at 7:30 p.m. Pius X knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 games -- so hopefully the Navigators likes a good challenge.
