This season hasn't been kind to the Whitehall-Yearling Rams, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grandview Heights. While losing is never fun, Whitehall-Yearling can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 700th, while Grandview Heights is ranked 274th).
Grandview Heights found their leader in underclassman Tatum Lusher, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lusher has scored at least 25% of Grandview Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Natalie Smith, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Whitehall-Yearling bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Grandview Heights, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Whitehall-Yearling will head out on the road to face off against Worthington Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grandview Heights will be home for the holidays to greet Bexley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bexley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
