Two dominant guards in Treivan Wright and Grant Morrison are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Curtis Baptist Crusaders will head out to square off against the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Curtis Baptist was able to grind out a solid win over Augusta E, taking the game 68-56. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Eagles are ranked 559th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Curtis Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wiltrez (Trez) Mincey, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. Mincey's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Wright was another key player, going 9 for 16 en route to 23 points.
Meanwhile, Charleston Collegiate didn't have quite enough to beat Faith Christian on Thursday and fell 59-57. While the Sundevils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 18-11 in the first quarter.
Curtis Baptist will have to keep a close watch on Morrison and Thomas Reed, a pair of players who had a big impact on Charleston Collegiate's prior game. Morrison dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists, while Reed almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. That was a full 35.1% of Charleston Collegiate's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kani Butler, who earned 11 points.
Curtis Baptist now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Charleston Collegiate, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: Curtis Baptist has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.4% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Charleston Collegiate, though, as they've only made 26.9% of their threes this season. Given Curtis Baptist's sizable advantage in that area, Charleston Collegiate will need to find a way to close that gap.
