Rihanna Hunt was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brinkley Robinson, who posted six points and five steals.
Franklinton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Rocky Mount's strategy against Northern Nash on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rocky Mount blew Northern Nash out of the water with a 57-16 final score. The Gryphons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.
Franklinton better keep an eye on Kira Jones. She was instrumental in Rocky Mount's win, dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Rocky Mount's points. McKinley Battle was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Rocky Mount pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Franklinton, their record now sits at 10-8.
Franklinton and Rocky Mount were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but Franklinton came up empty-handed after a 36-35 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jones, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Now that Franklinton knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
