Baseball Recap: Tivy Takes a Loss

Tivy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-3 to the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Antlers have suffered since May 25, 2024.

Guy Flores was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. He is becoming a predictor of Tivy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Conner Bloomer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Tivy now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2-1.

Coming up, Tivy will welcome Clark at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they will take on Cornerstone Christian at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Pharr-San Juan-Alamo 2.9, Cornerstone Christian 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
