Tommy Acosta Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Capistrano Valley got the W thanks in part to Tommy Acosta playing the best football he has all season. Acosta rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played.

On Thursday, Tustin got the W thanks in part to Eimesse Essis playing the best football he has all season. Essis rushed for 293 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 182 or more in the last four games he's played.
Tustin's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Essis and Tustin will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Western at 7:00 p.m.

Xzavior Guess Goes Supernova in El Modena Defeat
While El Modena might've come up empty on Thursday, Xzavior Guess wasn't going down without a fight. Guess turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 61 yards.
El Modena moved to 7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. Guess and El Modena will venture away from home to take on Capistrano Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tristan Zale Dazzles in Trabuco Hills Defeat
While Tristan Zale delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Trabuco Hills. Despite the defeat, Zale was still balling out as he threw for 351 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Trabuco Hills is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4. Their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Cypress at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Reily Walker posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He made 14 total tackles.
