The Coolidge Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Crismon Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Coolidge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 245 points over their last three games.
Coolidge put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past San Tan Foothills 67-38 on the road. Given Coolidge's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while San Tan Foothills is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coolidge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tory Gholston, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and four steals. Gholston hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Ja'kwan Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Crismon came up short against San Tan Foothills on Monday and fell 52-40.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Andrew LeMaster, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Brown, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Coolidge's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Crismon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Coolidge have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Crismon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
