The Autaugaville Eagles and the Calhoun Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Autaugaville Eagles had to settle for second. The matchup between them and the Tigers wasn't particularly close, with the Eagles falling 51-37. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Autaugaville of the 69-41 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Monday.
Calhoun got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremy Hardy out in front who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Tyler Robertson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Autaugaville's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Calhoun, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Autaugaville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calhoun, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pickens County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calhoun will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Pickens County surely won't give up without a fight.
