Kenston Forest is a perfect 8-0 against Temple Christian since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Kenston Forest Kavaliers will be taking part in a tournament against the Temple Christian Crusaders at 9:00 a.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Kenston Forest's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Tidewater Academy as Kenston Forest made off with a 15-0 victory.
Kelsey Marshall (2025) made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Marshall (2025) was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Addie McDaniel (2025) was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Mayton (2026), who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Temple Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Westover Christian Academy on Thursday. Temple Christian blew past Westover Christian Academy 20-0.
Like Kenston Forest, Temple Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Addison Camden. Throwing, Camden pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Reagan Hensley tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Camden gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Camden scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Hensley scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Temple Christian let Alyssa Conner and Paylin Harris run wild. Conner scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Harris scored three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaedee Hudson, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Temple Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westover Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .118.
The win got Kenston Forest back to even at 1-1. As for Temple Christian, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Kenston Forest skirted past Temple Christian 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Will Kenston Forest repeat their success, or does Temple Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
