The Olean Huskies will challenge the Fredonia Hillbillies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Olean sitting on four straight victories and Fredonia on nine.
On Tuesday, Olean earned a 10-6 win over Allegany-Limestone.

Emma Edwards made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Riley Sudbrook was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Allison Anastasia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Olean kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Fredonia's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Jamestown as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The Hillbillies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Danielle Palisin was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Palisin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
In other batting news, Fredonia got a massive performance out of Jenna Fryberger, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Naomi Muck was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Fredonia pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Olean, their record is now 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Olean has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fredonia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Olean came up short against Fredonia in their previous matchup back in April, falling 8-5. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
