Basketball Recap: Hamilton County Comes Up Short

Hamilton County lost against Madison County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hamilton County Trojans had to suffer through a 70-35 loss at the hands of the Madison County Cowboys. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Hamilton County lost, don't look at Hayden Tabor. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. The matchup was Tabor's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of King Harper, who scored eight points.

Leading Madison County to victory were Jhy Smith and LJ Crumity. Smith went 6 of 7 en route to 16 points and eight boards, while Crumity went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Louis Gaddy Jr, who earned seven points and five boards.

Hamilton County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Madison County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Hamilton County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-24 win against Highland Christian Academy on the 28th. Madison County has also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Jefferson County on the 25th.
