University City's Dominic Lewis rumbled for the longest rushing play in Central this season in his game against San Diego last week. Lewis' team bested the Cavers as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 167 in all.
Christian added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bishop's, 56-28. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Paris Miller was a passing and rushing force as Christian topped the Knights. Miller's key target this week was Kai Arvan, who caught 3 passes for 77 yards.
Michael Carrillo put up the best numbers in passing as Matt Oliver's team beat Bishop's. He finished with 7 completions for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns. Carrillo's favorite target this week was Arvan, who caught 3 passes for 77 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Patriots' Carrillo and Arvan have proven to be a lethal combination. Carrillo has thrown for 1,144 yards this season, while Arvan, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 18 catches for 395 yards. Alex Beaubien from Clairemont leads the league in rushing with 322 yards.
University City moved up to 676 from 731 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Central. Charles James' team was able to move up by defeating San Diego 35-21.
