The Viewmont Vikings waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 55-51 victory over Bonneville. That's another feather in the cap for Viewmont, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Drez Jensen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Max Draper, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Bonneville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Sebahar, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Sebahar hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Tesch, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Bonneville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Viewmont's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for Bonneville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Viewmont will be playing in front of their home fans against Clearfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clearfield is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Bonneville, they will head out on the road to challenge Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Northridge is ranked 75th, while Bonneville is ranked 78th).
