The Somers Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Windsor Locks Raiders at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Somers is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Somers was not quite Suffield's equal in the second half on Monday. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, Windsor Locks' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 71-52 bruising from Sports & Medical Sciences Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Windsor Locks has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Kyle Hinckley, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Grasso, who scored 13 points.
Windsor Locks struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Somers' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. Windsor Locks' record now sits at 11-5.
Somers came up short against Windsor Locks in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 46-40. Can Somers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
