It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cedartown Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They strolled past Holy Innocents Episcopal with points to spare, taking the game 21-7. The win was familiar territory for Cedartown who now have five in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Juelz Davis, who rushed for 145 yards on only 15 carries. Davis was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
Cedartown's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Grant Kirkpatrick and Maleek Frederick who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Cedartown pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.5 points per game. As for Holy Innocents Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Cedartown will face off against North Oconee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Oconee's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last ten matchups. Holy Innocents Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
