The Lee's Summit North Broncos put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They beat Park Hill by the very same score they won with last week: 28-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lee's Summit North also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Elijah A Leonard was his usual excellent self, rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Tanner Howes and his 94 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Lee's Summit North's victory.
Lee's Summit North's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Park Hill South and 3-8 Lee's Summit West (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.6% over those games). As for Park Hill, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5.
Lee's Summit North will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lee's Summit at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. After each having a week off, Park Hill and Central will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Park Hill is ranked 20th).
