The Bryan Station Defenders had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 64-37 victory over Shelby County on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.
Shelby County's loss came despite strong showings from Autumn Simpson and Maddi Reed. Simpson scored 22 points, while Reed scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Bryan Station's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Shelby County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Bryan Station will be playing in front of their home fans against Lexington Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shelby County, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
