Xavier College Prep has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chandler recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Gators will take on the Wolves at 3:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Xavier College Prep was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Casteel on Friday. The Gators were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Colts.
Molly Frazier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sydney Terveen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sariah McNabb, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Xavier College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Casteel only posted an OBP of .364.
While Chandler didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let Valley Vista get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Monsoon recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Chandler also got a great performance from Isabelle Ashike Osorio as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Ashike Osorio has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lily Kolsrud was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Lena Montijo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Xavier College Prep's record now sits at 4-1. As for Chandler, their record is now 7-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Xavier College Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .424. However, it's not like Chandler struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Xavier College Prep got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Chandler by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
