Central won the last time they faced Vero Beach, and Christian Maxon did his part to make sure it happened again. The Central Cobras escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Vero Beach Indians by the margin of a single free throw, 69-68 thanks in part to Maxon, who went 9 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Maxon, who posted 11 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more assists the last four times he's played.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Vero Beach, they moved to 10-9 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Central will face off against North Tampa Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Tampa Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Vero Beach, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westwood at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
