The Bangor Vikings will take on the Gobles Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bangor will bounce into Friday's game after beating Hartford, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 20-7 margin over the Huskies on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won six contests in a row.

Carley McCoy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last four matches. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Bangor got a massive performance out of Alexis Wisniewski, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Wisniewski has posted since back in April. Kazi Davis was another key player, going 4-for-5 with six RBI and two runs.
Bangor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gobles faced off against Climax-Scotts on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 12-1. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Like Bangor, Gobles also got a great game from a two-way player: Daisy Jackson. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Jackson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Killeen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Alana Gonzalez, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Gobles' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Bangor, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bangor hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Gobles struggles in that department as they've averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bangor suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Gobles in their previous matchup back in April of 2017. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
