Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christoval). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the San Angelo HomeSchool Saints a 20-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won ten contests in a row.

Jace Cobb made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cobb was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blaze Webber, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Waddell, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Christoval kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games.

Christoval pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for San Angelo HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christoval will challenge Eldorado at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Angelo HomeSchool, they will head out to take on Sonora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.67 runs per game on average), something the Saints will no doubt try to take advantage of.
