When it comes to explaining why Town East Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Owen Cadena. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Cadena scored a full 39.3% of Town East Christian's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abel Esquivel, who scored five points.
Lifegate Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Town East Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 1-4.
Lifegate Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Salem Sayers Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Town East Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Antonio Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
