The Douglas Tigers lost against the Prouty Panthers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Douglas ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-44 walloping at the hands of Prouty. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Douglas has scored all season.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adam Dunphy, who scored 16 points. Dunphy scored a full 36.4% of Douglas' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Colton Howard was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Douglas now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Prouty, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Douglas will be playing in front of their home fans against Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Prouty will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Northbridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northbridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Prouty is ranked 22nd).
