Lake Minneola came into their game this week averaging 41.67 points per game, but they fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They have to be aching after a bruising 41-7 loss to Gaither on Friday. The lax defense was uncharacteristic for Lake Minneola, who until this matchup were averaging 18 points allowed.
senior Tony Bartalo had a stellar game for Gaither as he passed for 223 yards and four TDs. That makes it three straight good games from Bartalo. senior Deveon Knighton was in the mix, too, providing Gaither with three touchdowns.
Lake Minneola's playoff loss brings an end to their season. Gaither will take on Escambia in each of the teams' fourth playoff contest on Friday. Escambia is also coming in after a big win (39-13 over Lee).
