Palestine extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region III District 19 this week by beating Mexia, 63-24. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Palestine took down the Black Cats 63-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Andre Welch of the Fairfield is only 30 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Welch has rushed for 970 yards on 190 carries so far this year.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Eagles take on the Wildcats. Fairfield's offense has racked up 253 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Palestine has allowed only 177 on the year.
