Hilmar won against Orestimba last Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets beat the Sonora Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-3. Winning may never get old, but the Yellowjackets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Xavier Silveira tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Sward, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Junior Solis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
