In what's become a running theme this season, the Bennington Badgers gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Omaha North 64-44. Given Bennington's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Omaha North is ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Presley Baca continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Addison Reinoehl, who scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Omaha North lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Milani Drake, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Ayanna Hill was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Bennington's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Omaha North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bennington and Elkhorn will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Omaha North, they will head out on the road to take on Lincoln High at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln High is on a four-game streak of home losses, Omaha North a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
