Langley is 10-0 against Washington-Liberty since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Langley Saxons will head out on the road to face off against the Washington-Liberty Generals at 7:30 p.m. Langley is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Langley strolled past McLean with points to spare, taking the game 42-26. Given Langley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while McLean is ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Langley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Daley, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Vicky Zawisza, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Washington-Liberty unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Yorktown 51-47.
Langley's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Washington-Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Langley strolled past Washington-Liberty when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 53-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Langley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
