After each having a week off, the Duluth Wildcats and the Parkview Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Duluth will be strutting in after a win while Parkview will be coming in after a defeat.
Duluth barely beat Berkmar the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Patriots 54-7 last Friday. That looming 54-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Shamar Banner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 262 yards and six TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Duluth's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. The Wildcats' leading receiver DeTwann Collins was Banner's top target yet again, picking up 91 receiving yards and three scores.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Peyton Fonville, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Parkview started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Norcross. They fell 22-16 to the Blue Devils last Friday. Despite 121 more yards than the Blue Devils, the Panthers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Duluth will have to contain Sterling Dixon as he made an impact in Parkview's last game. He rushed for 104 yards on only nine carries, and also caught one touchdown. Dixon also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles.
Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Ja Kaden Mobley for the heroic effort on defense: he. Parkview didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.
Parkview's defense didn't let PJ Wolfe, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Jerold Smart was especially locked on to Norcross' QB and sacked him twice.
Parkview has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Duluth, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Duluth has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 205.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Parkview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 176.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Duluth couldn't quite get it done against Parkview when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 27-14. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
