The Morristown Yellow Jackets lost against the Triton Central Tigers back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Morristown opened the new year with a less-than-successful 43-36 loss to Triton Central. Morristown has struggled against Triton Central recently, as their match on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Morristown still got an impressive performance from Cade Mahin, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dalton Mcmichael, who scored three points.
Morristown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leading Triton Central to victory were Eli Sego and Silas Blair. Sego scored 12 points along with six steals, while Blair scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Blair's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taggart Goul, who scored four points.
Morristown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Triton Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morristown will challenge Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rushville is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Triton Central will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Milan at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th.
