The Mooresville Pioneers will be playing at home against the Plainfield Quakers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Mooresville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mt. Vernon, but they still walked away with a 41-37 victory. Given Mooresville's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Mt. Vernon is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mooresville had a senior duo take command as Rachel Harshman dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds and Emma Mcginley scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Sydney Hardy was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
Plainfield has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Plainfield has scored all season.
Mooresville is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Plainfield, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
Mooresville beat Plainfield 54-41 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Does Mooresville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plainfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
