Make it eight blowout wins for the Shining Light Academy Knights this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat South Guilford HomeSchool 86-47 on the road. Given Shining Light Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Cougars are ranked 505th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Shining Light Academy to victory were Alik Lewis and Jayden Adams. Lewis scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Adams dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Lewis is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nati Mitchell-Rozzi, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Shining Light Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shining Light Academy will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
