The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pope John Paul II, who took down 74th ranked Father Ryan, 10-6.
Ensworth extended the longest winning streak in Division II AA - East/Middle this week by beating Montgomery Bell Academy, 35-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Ensworth's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andrew Bowers threw for 88 and one touchdown and Jake Estes had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Cornelius Elder chipped in 217 yards. Jourdan Swett helped Ensworth's passing attack out by catching one ball for 31 yards.
Ensworth's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bowers has thrown for 1053 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Myles Pasley has 13 catches for 318 yards. Elder leads the league in rushing with 1609 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Brentwood Academy takes on the Fightin' Irish. The Eagles are in second place, while Father Ryan is in eighth place.
McCallie suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after. The Blue Tornado had been ranked 24th, but fell to 26 following the defeat.
