Baseball Recap: Lindbergh Extends Winning Streak to Two

Lindbergh won the last time they faced Parkway West and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Flyers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Longhorns a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Flyers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Jack Politte's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Austin Jones and Karsen Stout did most of the damage at the plate: Jones scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Stout scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Stout has posted over his last ten games. Another player making a difference was CJ Luczak, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Lindbergh and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Parkway West, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Lindbergh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Longhorns: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
