Basketball Recap: Juliana Larson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Benjamin Franklin

Northwest Christian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Benjamin Franklin Chargers by a score of 46-33. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-49 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Juliana Larson, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Those eight points gave Larson a new career-high. Amelie Wingo was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Northwest Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Benjamin Franklin still got an impressive performance from Madelyn Falls, who scored 12 points. That was a full 36.4% of Benjamin Franklin's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Celest Chege, who put up six points.

The win got Northwest Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Benjamin Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Northwest Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-34 victory against San Tan Foothills on the 23rd. As for Benjamin Franklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-27 win against Bourgade Catholic on the 23rd.
