Riverview (Fla.) fell 23-7 to
Bloomingdale (Valrico, Fla.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Eugene Baker in the second quarter, the Bulls led 10-7 at the half.
Bloomingdale expanded its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Baker.
Lasander Washington played well for the Sharks. The senior running back ran for one touchdown.
Baker stood out for the Valrico school in the win. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
Riverview's lone touchdown came on a 75-yard run by Washington in the first quarter.
The Bulls also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-0.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Bloomingdale, which was coming off a 12-7 defeat at the hands of Tampa Catholic in its previous game.
Bloomingdale (3-2) will play a 8A District 6 game against Alonso next week, while Riverview (2-3) will take on East Bay in a 7A District 8 game.
