Louisburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Falls Lake Firebirds on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.
While Louisburg was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-15.
Falls Lake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tess DeZurik out in front who had 15 digs and six kills. That's the most kills DeZurik has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maggie Penn, who had 25 digs and three assists.
