The Carroll Tigers lost against the McAllen Memorial Mustangs back in December of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Carroll received a tough blow as they fell 64-47 to McAllen Memorial. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carroll in their matchups with McAllen Memorial: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Milo Gonzales, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Sanchez, who scored 9 points.
Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for McAllen Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Carroll will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against King at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd. King will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1228th, while Carroll is ranked 275th). As for McAllen Memorial, they will take on Ray at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ray knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully McAllen Memorial likes a good challenge.
