Van has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.09 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 16-4 to the Pleasant Grove Hawks. The Vandals' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Van saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asher Hawkins, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Van's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6-1. As for Pleasant Grove, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van will host Bullard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
