In what's become a running theme this season, the Seneca Bobcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Walhalla on the road to the tune of 75-47. Given Seneca's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Walhalla is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Seneca to victory were Cam O'kelley and Jalen Craig. O'kelley scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Craig almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Craig is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine Miller, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Daniel Hutto and Jack Williams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hutto scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Williams scored 15 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hutto pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Seneca is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Walhalla, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Seneca will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West-Oak at 7:30 p.m. Seneca is coming into the match with ten straight victories at home, so West-Oak is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Walhalla, they will head out on the road to square off against Pendleton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Walhalla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Friday.
