If the Loyalton Grizzlies were feeling good off their 69-47 takedown of the Herlong Vikings last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Loyalton fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 68-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Loyalton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aidan Shelby, who scored 21 points along with seven blocks and six rebounds, and Ace Armstrong who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Shelby is crushing the block category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Gus Petterson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Princeton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Junior Andrade out in front who scored 22 points along with three steals. Andrade is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Corwyn Roberson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Loyalton's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8. As for Princeton, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-1.
Loyalton will be playing at home against the Lumberjacks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Princeton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
