Baseball Recap: Bethel Christian Academy's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bethel Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Mountain View Christian Academy Mustangs with a sharp 10-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Crusaders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dylan Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Smith was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Logan Hughes was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Jon McMahan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Bethel Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .296.

Bethel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mountain View Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel Christian Academy will take on IC Imagine at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain View Christian Academy, they will square off against Lake Lure Classical Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
