The Blythewood Bengals will take on the West Florence Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Blythewood sitting on 12 straight victories and West Florence on four.
Blythewood had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt White Knoll on Friday. Blythewood was the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over White Knoll. The result was nothing new for the Bengals, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Chase Rollings looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Alex Myers and Sammy Franklin did most of the damage at the plate: Myers scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Franklin scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Myers a new career-high in RBI (three). Porter Rummel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Blythewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Knoll only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, while West Florence put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Sumter. West Florence had just enough and edged out Sumter 1-0. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.
Not much got past Matthew Brown, who gave up just four hits to keep Sumter off the board. Brown has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
Blythewood pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Florence, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
West Florence's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Blythewood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. It's a different story for West Florence, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Blythewood's hitters?
Everything went Blythewood's way against West Florence in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as Blythewood made off with a 15-1 victory. Will Blythewood repeat their success, or does West Florence has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
