The Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers will challenge the Brevard HEAT Firehawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Wednesday, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Astronaut. They had just enough and edged out the War Eagles 8-7. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the War Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy got a big performance out of Ethan Nunes, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Noah Thatcher was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Nunes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Brevard HEAT had just enough and edged out Calvary Chapel Academy 19-18 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firehawks.
Anthony Kusky made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Kusky was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in triples (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jamin Castillo, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Brycen Harmon, who scored three runs while going 1-for-5.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Brevard HEAT, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-7.
